With so much in mind and i had already scheduled a post … i couldn’t let this day go by. I was coming home by car after taking Ema to her grandmother when I realized, listening to the radio, that today is the International MUSIC Day! (I really need to put these dates on the agenda … I do not know how I’ll make time for everything! But I’ll get!).
Couldn’t let this date go blank … no bouquet is worth it! So, very fast, before going to Lisbon to assist my first styled shoot (Uh Uh!) I really need to say what goes in my soul.
Here at home we breathe music, live music. More in a jazz and bossa style, but always with open heart and knowing that the songs make many of the great moments of our life. We all know that and when we hear a special song we are transported. It is a wonderful thing. Far above any word. It is difficult to express what the music makes us feel. More difficult to explain what music is. As a mother i think a lot of times when our daughter will start liking music (not Panda e Caricas!) and understanding the blessing that is to be able to live music.
It’s the music of the upstairs neighbors on Saturday morning while tidying the house screaming thinking they are singing, it’s the music that accompanies our adolescence depressions, it’s the music that plays when we found our first love, when we lose a friend, when we discovered that there is even greater love than ours: the love for our children! Our life is a soundtrack! (Right now accompanied by the barking of my two dogs who do not realize why the music is so loud!!)
I heard a lot of musics this morning in M80 (there are days when it feels so good to hear this radio! Ahhh the 80s!) And one of them made sense to share with you today. Not because this is a blog about inspirations for weddings (i could put here a list of endless sappy songs!), but because this is one of those songs that can show without any doubt what music is! And what the music is able to do!
“Music can change the world because it can change people”, once said Bono Vox, lead singer of U2. This is the great truth about music. Music transforms. Music makes us fall in love. Music creates love. Emotions. Life! There is nothing better!
And no better than “We are the world” (USA for Africa, a project in 1985 which raised over 60 million dollars to help fight hunger in Africa) to show that we can really make a difference. Me + You. It’s always us. Alone can change the world!
Inspire yourself! Let´s become better human beings able to change the world! The world is music! We are the world!
We Are The World
There comes a time when we heed a certain call
When the world must come together as one
There are people dying
And its time to lend a hand to life
The greatest gift of all
We can’t go on pretending day by day
That someone, will soon make a change
We are all a part of Gods great big family
And the truth, you know,
Love is all we need
We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So lets start giving
There’s a choice we’re making
We’re saving our own lives
Its true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me
Send them your heart so they’ll know that someone cares
And their lives will be stronger and free
As God has shown us by turning stones to bread
So we all must lend a helping hand
When you’re down and out, there seems no hope at all
But if you just believe there’s no way we can fall well well well well
Let us realize that a change can only come
When we stand together as one
