S’more? Yes, please!

Ahhhhh a gray day to make you feel the approach of the autumn. Nothing better than a comfort food to warm your soul: S’mores!

I always imagined when I was much smaller (ok, just got 1.52m but that’s beside the point!) to be in a scouts group where after a day of exercises and strenuous DIY, we would all gather around a campfire to eat marshmallows and tell scary stories.

But here in Portgal marshmallows were not part of our daily life and most of the camp fires had a sausage and not a candy that can be eaten almost melted. Thank God the Americans discovered this delight.

Today i leave you a S’mores recipe to eat indoors. With a more gray weather it sounds good to eat something warmer and i believe it is a good recipe to repeat in the cold winter evenings!

1 cup of chocolate chips
8 large marshmallows
crackers for dipping

Preheat the oven to 230C.
In a cast iron skillet, add the chocolate chips. Snip the large marshmallows in half and top the chocolate chips with them. (You could also use a scoop of mini marshmallows alternatively.)

Once the oven is up to temperature, add the skillet to the oven. Bake for 7-9 minutes, or until the marshmallows turn golden brown.

Serve with crackers for scooping.

Inspire yourself (i can imagine myself licking every finger! Hhhuuuuummmmmm)!
